The hard-hitting, action-packed Murray River Rumble is set to return to ClubMulwala on October 21 with an exciting line-up of hopefuls set to take their turn in the ring.
The year’s event will be the third, locally-hosted boxing event which has delighted sold out crowds with great boxing action while raising money for the community.
This year the Murray River Rumble is being held in support of Yarrawonga youngster Lilly Toms, 14, who is receiving ongoing medical treatment in her fight against Leukaemia.
Funds raised will help Lilly and her family through their difficult journey and the opportunity to help has prompted no shortage of volunteers willing to step into the ring.
Among them is former Rennie Football Club stalwart Dick Ferguson.
“Dick, who was known for his toughness on the football field, has been training the house down,” said Matt ‘Camel’ Kennedy from the Murray River Boxing Gym.
“We hope the community gets behind Dick who is putting his body on the line to raise funds to support the Toms family during these tough times.
“We have a strong line-up of local boxers which is building up to what should be a great show.”
The last two Murray River Rumble events have sold out, so organisers are encouraging people to get in early so they don’t miss out.
Tickets are well-priced at $40 for ringside seats and $30 for general admission and go on sale on August 21, available from ClubMulwala.
